Asthma Equity Explorer Database Access Policy

Background

The ASTHMA Equity Explorer Database is a freely available database platform hosted by Allergy & Asthma Network to disseminate United States data on asthma prevalence and other useful features for research study use and general knowledge purposes. Allergy & Asthma Network emphasizes the need for transparency with the distribution of resources, the research being conducted with the database, and the results of that research.

Terms and Conditions for access and analysis

Every viewer and user of the ASTHMA Equity Explorer Database will need to complete a contact form before downloading data from the database. The sole purpose of this contact form is to be connected to researchers and organizations who access and use the data for research study purposes. By completing the contact form, users consent to Allergy & Asthma Network to contact them for information about their research study and data usage. Allergy & Asthma Network will contact the researcher and/or organization after the contact form is received and if needed, a follow-up after 3 months.

The data access is private with the email address of the user being saved into Salesforce and used for subsequent logins.

The ASTHMA Equity Explorer Database is for research only and does not provide any medical information, advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Policy Statement

Under this policy, users, researchers, and organizations who access the ASTHMA Equity Explorer Database and use the data for research study purposes agree to inform Allergy & Asthma Network about upcoming publications or presentations resulting from the use. Users can send an email informing Allergy & Asthma Network's research department at research@allergyasthmanetwork.org. Users are required to credit the database and Allergy & Asthma Network as the source of the research data.

All user-provided information will only be used by Allergy & Asthma Network to prepare for any media coverage or communication regarding the upcoming publication or presentation. If suitable to both parties, after discussion, the Allergy & Asthma Network can be acknowledged as a collaborating organization in the manuscript.
